Akihiko Takeda applies traditional techniques he learned, primarily hammering and embossing, to thin sheets of copper and silver. The natural patina that these metals develop over time is utilized by Takeda as a characteristic, evolving element of his works.
His exploration leads him to incorporate colored glass as well, using the enamel technique, resulting in uniquely distinctive pieces.
Takeda's exploration extends to bronze casting, particularly at some Italian foundries.
